Online Betting Sites – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted he keeps in touch with Erling Haaland, with Manchester United continuously linked with the Borussia Dortmund striker.
Solskjaer and Haaland worked together during the former’s time in charge at Molde in the pair’s native Norway and the United boss attempted to sign the forward before he swapped RB Salzburg for Dortmund in January 2020.
Haaland’s star has risen further since his switch to the Bundesliga and he is currently one of the most in demand young players in world football. United and Real Madrid have both been linked with a move for the 20-year-old, and his agent Mino Raiola stated on Wednesday that just ten clubs can afford his client – four of which are Premier League teams.
Any potential Solskjaer-Haaland reunion at Old Trafford has not been played down by the United boss, who revealed that he still speaks to his former player.
“I think when you have had kids and players through as a coach you follow them,” Solskjaer said, as quoted by Metro. “I keep in touch with Erling – it is great to see him become the player he has become. He is a Dortmund player and we wish him well there. Let’s see what life will bring later on.”
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has previous when it comes to recruiting Haaland, having signed him for Molde from the forward’s hometown side Bryne as a 16-year-old in 2017.
The United boss gave Haaland his first taste of Norwegian top flight football and worked with the striker for ten months, before taking up the Red Devils hot seat in December 2018.
Haaland moved to RB Salzburg after two years at Molde before sealing a switch to Dortmund in January 2020 in spite of interest from United. He has gone on to post a ridiculous scoring record for the German side and received the prestigious Golden Boy award in November 2020.
