Mysport99 – Erik ten Hag will miss Ajax’s end-of-season trip to Curacao to travel to the UK ready to start work at Manchester United.
Erik Ten Hag is officially taking over from interim United boss Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season, having led the Dutch giants to the Eredivisie title this term.
Ajax’s last game of the campaign was a 2-2 draw with Vitesse on Sunday, and they will now embark on a brief visit to the Caribbean as part of their partnership with the Curacao tourist board.
They will take on the Curacao national side during the trip, but according to De Telegraaf Ten Hag will not be in the dugout.
“There will be a party with the [Ajax] staff, but I am not going to Curacao,” the soon-to-be United boss told Mike Verweij. “I think that’s understandable. There is a lot of work to do there [at Manchester United]. That is the case with every club.
A number of things still need to be organised in the staff and also in the selection. We will be working intensively on this from tomorrow.”
United have one game left of what has been a terrible season – a trip to Crystal Palace on Sunday – and it remains to be seen whether he will be present at Selhurst Park or watch the game remotely.
